I am about to share the ultimate tips for making it out of the house looking put together in under three minutes. That’s right folks, I can do my make-up in under three minutes, two if I’m in a hurry. Best part of it all- every item is cruelty-free and does not test on animals!
Step one: Tight-line your eyes with Wet-n-Wild black eye liner pencil. ($0.98 at most stores). The key here is tight-lining. This video seriously changed my life, or at least how I line my eyes. This will be the most time consuming part of your morning, but it’s totally worth it!
Step Two: Brush a light coat of Pacifica eye shadow in Ethereal over your lid. Don’t worry about crazy smokey eyes, just a quick sweep across both lids will be sufficient. The light white color helps to brighten your eyes without looking like something out of the 1990’s. (If you don’t remember the white eye shadow of the 90’s, count yourself blessed!)
Step Three: Apply Tarte deluxe lights, camera, lashes 4-in-1 mascara on your lashes. If you wear glasses, skip the bottom lashes- mascara on the bottom can enhance the shadow of your glasses and make you look like you’ve got dark circles, no one needs that.
Step Four: Apply a quick coat of Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer to your lips. My favorite shades are peony and watermelon for pale to light skin. Play around with the colors to find the one that’s best for you.
You may notice that I don’t include any highlight, foundation, powder, etc. It is my personal opinion that these products are generally not necessary. Instead, take good care of your skin and you will likely be able to have an even, clear complexion without having to go through all these extra steps. Be looking for my skin care tips towards the end of the month.
That’s it ladies, my simple, easy, cruelty-free make-up routine that will take you less than three minutes. And if all else fails, remember the words of Ms. Marilyn Monroe, “A smiles is the best makeup a girl could wear.”
