I had the great honor of getting to see Clyde’s very own Pearl and the Polka Dots this past December. This darling trio of ladies is a fresh new bluegrass group born right here in the Big Country. These lovely lasses met at a festival and sat down to play together and everything just click. Let me tell you, the bluegrass world hasn’t been the same since!
Anji Pearl and her be-speckled gals play a mix of traditional bluegrass, hymns, and lively country music. They feature a beautiful three-part harmony with a mixture of string instruments and the occasional a cappella piece. The ladies also tell a few great stories and heartwarming antidotes. Trust me, you will not find a more genuine and humble group of ladies. They play regularly in the Abilene and Clyde area, just look for the Pearl and the Polka Dots camper trailer- you can’t miss it!
You can see the ladies at the performance at the Betty Hardwick Center in the videos below, and don’t forget to follow them on Facebook.
